3-Gallon Big Daddy Hydrangea is a compact deciduous shrub that blooms on both old and new wood. Its serrated. glossy dark green leaves turn yellow in fall. The color of the large rounded panicles of mop-head flowers depends on the soil PH - a mild pink in alkaline soils, while acidic soils produce blue flowers. The flowers open green to white and gain its color through summer attracting pollinators. Best bloom in partial sun and rich, moist well-drained soils.
